Mommy

Dear Everett,
Growing up I always knew that I wanted children. When it came time for me and your dad, Ben, to make the decision to start trying to have kids I was nervous, but excited at the same time. Now that you are here I can't imagine my life without you. People are right, you will love your child more than you thought possible. "E", you are a little miracle. . . and you are MY little miracle. I am amazed by you EVERY SINGLE DAY. I can't wait for you to grow up! But I also want you to stay 7 months old forever! I know my life has forever been changed by you, our little bundle of joy, and I couldn't be happier. I am officially a "mommy" and I LOVE IT!
Love,
Your Mommy

Easter Sunday

Yesterday was Easter Sunday and this year was Everett's first time celebrating. Of course I went out and bought "E" an Easter basket complete with candy (which he cannot have yet) and a stuffed zebra that he picked out. I even filled some plastic eggs with candy and I let him shake them to make noise. I was actually scheduled to work all weekend but I took some vacation time Sunday so I could spend the day at home. We went to an early dinner at Chris and Dirk's house around 3:00 and my mom and dad joined us. We had one of my favorite dishes, pesto flank steaks, courtesy of Dirk. Once we finished dinner it was time for me to go back to work. I can't wait until next year when Everett can "find" the eggs:)

Murph

Okay, I just realized that i haven't officially introduced Murph. He is our very wonderful, very mellow golden retriver. Murph stumbled into our lives last year about this time. He is definately the best dog EVER. I know people always say that about their dogs, but we actually mean it. He is well trained, well mannered, and would follow us anywhere. Murph loves what most dogs love... fetching a toy, getting his belly scratched, and the occasional "cleaning" of areas that I wish he would clean in private. Yesterday was Murph's last official day as a boy dog. That's right, we had him neutered. I can't believe we waited so long. Of course, I have been at work the last couple of days so I haven't seen the poor guy. Ben has been at home taking care of him and hopefully Murph hasn't ever noticed that something is missing.... We love you Murph!

January

Ughh, it's January 25th. This is one of my least favorite times of year. The holidays are over, it's still cold outside, and it still gets dark early. I have to drag myself outside everyday to walk Murph to the park. By the way, apparently dogs don't notice when it's cold or rainy outside.... I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that warmer weather is in our future.

STRESS

Okay, I am definately not very good at this "blogging" thing. The wedding is now 9 days away and I am starting to feel some pressure. Not the "I'm getting cold feet" pressure, but more like the "my to-do list is getting longer!" pressure. Fortunately for me (and Ben) I have managed to sucker/talk some people into working for me next week so I will have 2 more days of frantically getting things organized! Thank goodness!
P.S. I am thinking about sneaking over to my moms house this weekend to try on my dress again. . . ..

Infestation

For those of you who don't know, I work very near to the Boise foothills. We are always finding wildlife around the station. i.e. rabbits, birds, quail, praying mantis, etc. I found this "little" guy wandering around my station the other night! I promptly put him in a plastic cup and took him to the office to show everyone. Naturally, I needed him to pose by this highlighter so you could understand the magnitude of his size. .. .. he was HUGE! I was tempted to leave him in the office overnight (underneath the plastic cup of course), but I started to worry about him escaping and seeking revenge for his entrapment. So, I did the humane thing and I let him go in front of the station. . . .. I can only hope that he does not make his way back inside!

Happy Birthday Dad!

It's my dad's birthday today and guess where he gets to spend the day?.....St. Als Hospital. That's right, he is awaiting a possible surgery on his shoulder. Dad was working out last night at the Asylum and during his 145 pounds push press somehow threw his shoulder out of the socket! From what I was told, he was very brave and "acted" like it didn't hurt. Anyway, I was able to visit him today and he seemed to be in good spirits ( which I am sure was because of the morphine) Anyway, I will be wishing my dad a safe and successful surgery today as well as a GREAT birthday!
